ABOUT ME
Hello! I’m Ash (Ashwini Rajasekaran).
I’m thrilled to be sharing my experiences and interests with you today. My story began many
years ago. I was drawn towards scientific curiosity as a kid, when my brother introduced me to
the world of experimenting with chemicals and spoke about travelling to space. I was excited to
learn new scientific concepts, test theories and draw conclusions. Over the following years, I
joined him as he performed plant grafting experiments, building electrical circuits, burning
magnesium ribbons, testing liquid lead and many more. I became hooked on science and stayed
in a constant state of awe of nature and complexities it offers. With time I realized that I was
more inclined towards biology, especially of humans. As a passionate science enthusiast, I went
on to pursue a Bachelor and Master of Science specializing in Chemistry, Zoology, Microbiology
and Advanced Biochemistry, respectively. I then wanted to expand my horizon further and
delve deeper into the molecular intricacies of human genome.

Here I am today! a dedicated scientist with Ph.D. in Human Genetics and five years of
postdoctoral experience in mRNA vaccine biology and biomarker discovery. With a strong
educational background and research expertise across diverse areas of biomedical sciences, I
specialize in the spectrum of translational medicine. I deeply believe in the pressing need for
turning observations in the laboratory into interventions that improve the health of individuals
and the public—ranging from diagnostics to therapeutics.
I aim to bridge the gaps between often-distinct areas of expertise for a superior and effective
translation of scientific discoveries into improved health for all. In the long run, I envision
myself leading a collaborative effort between academic and industrial partners, working
towards a common goal of making the bench to bed-side transitions faster, less expensive, and
more effectual.
Beside my academic interest, I am committed towards training the next generation of aspiring
minds, inspire and drive them towards seeking solutions for a better tomorrow. With this
purpose in mind, I and my colleague/partner co-founded one of a kind EdTech start-up offering
practical R&D based training to STEM students across the globe, where we aim to transform
talented and ambitious younger generation to meet the challenges and opportunities of today
and our future.
